Overwhelmed by the promise, Kigozi, 70, a resident of Kawempe division in Kampala, staked his house as security for a sh500m loan from loan sharks. After securing the cash, he gave it to conmen. And the wait for a presidential appointment started. It never came. The conmen disappeared. And Kigozi’s woes started.
