How govt will spend sh8.56 trillion loan

The works ministry is seeking funding for two critical road projects. The first involves borrowing euro 115.9m (sh463.6b) from Standard Chartered Bank to implement the oil roads Package 6B, which includes upgrading the Karugutu-Ntoroko road (56.5km), a link to Rwebisengo (8.2km), and 3.3km of town roads in Ntoroko, totalling 68km. 

Finance minister Matia Kasaija presented the proposals to the parliamentary committee on national economy last week, chaired by John Bosco Ikojo (Bukedea County).

KAMPALA - The Government has unveiled plans to borrow sh8.56 trillion ($1.36b and euro 951.84m) to finance major infrastructure, agriculture, health, energy, education and social development projects.
