The headless body of an 18-year-old man was discovered on Sunday, May 17, 2026, on the Kamdini–Lira Road in Adak A village, Kamdini subcounty, Oyam district.
The deceased, identified as Daniel Owiny, a resident of Alyec village in Aber subcounty, was reportedly last seen on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
Patrick Omara, the chairperson of Adak A village, said his office received reports that the deceased had allegedly been knocked down by a speeding vehicle.
He added that when residents rushed to the scene, they found the lifeless body without the head.
Omara appealed to the Ministry of Works and Transport to install more humps along the Kamdini–Lira Road to help reduce road crashes caused by speeding motorists.
Ambrose Omodo, the chairperson of Alyec village, where the deceased lived, said relatives struggled to identify the body because it was found without the head, clothes and shoes.
He revealed that the deceased had reportedly gone to a disco at Adak A trading centre but never returned home.
Oyam district traffic officer Apollo Ogwara Achwo said investigations into the incident had commenced, adding that the circumstances under which the deceased was found, headless and without clothes or shoes, raise suspicion.
