Bishop-elect Joseph Eletu of Life Renewal International Church in Uganda has urged every leader to guard against the greatest temptations of girls, gold, and goals. Eletu has been overseeing the Life Renewal International Church in Uganda.
“May God help me serve without being overwhelmed by any of the three,” Eletu stated during his consecration, which was conducted by Bishop Daniel Robertson from Mount Gilead Full Gospel International Ministries in the USA.
The consecration event was a colourful gathering held at the Life Renewal International Church in the Western Division of Soroti City. It was attended by numerous Christians, including guests from the United States, such as Bishop Dr Julian Dangerfield and Bishop Patrick O. Thomas.
With tears in his eyes, Bishop Eletu described his journey as a humbling experience that began on July 5, 1987, at 1:00 PM on a Sunday afternoon when he was born again. It was at that moment that he believed God had been silent to his prayers.
Bishop Eletu was born on December 12, 1968, in Moru Inera village, Orungo sub-county, Amuria district. His parents, Mislam Eletu and Aster Akiding, are both deceased. He is married to Susan Alio Eletu, and they are blessed with four children: two boys and two girls.
He completed his primary education at Wera Primary School in Amuria district, Acowa Primary School in Kapelebyong district, and Orungo Primary School before joining Soroti Secondary School for his UCE (Uganda Certificate of Education).
Eletu recalls admiring the Baptist Church, where the elders took on the responsibility of mentoring him. They provided him with a solid foundation and sponsored his education through to his diploma and degree in theology.
Bishop Eletu mentioned that the church has been supporting the education of over 200 disadvantaged children from primary school to university. However, due to the impact of COVID-19, they have lost much of their support.
During the event, a donation of five new motorcycles was announced for the five reverends ordained that day. The recipients are Rev. Mathew Enenu, Rev. David Epilu, Rev. Patrick Orotin, Rev. Levi Eyumu, and Rev. Nelson Eyegu, who are all affiliated with Life Renewal International Church in Uganda.
Present at the ceremony were Archbishop James Odongo of the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches, alongside other bishops, including Kokas Olupot of Christ Miracle Church, Stephen Ebaale of Heritage Living Faith Church, George Edweu of Pentecostal Upright Ministry, Sam Eibu of the Baptist Church, Lawrence Okeju Oricom of Pentecostal Exodus Ministries, Charlies Egangu of Elim Church, John Eceru of the Baptist Church, and Bishop Emeritus Justine Edweu.
Additional leaders in attendance included Soroti City RCC Okurut, Soroti City Mayor Francis Esudu, and former LC-5 Chairperson of Soroti District, George Michael Egunyu, among several others.
