KAMPALA - President Yoweri Museveni has ordered the internal affairs ministry permanent secretary, Lt. Gen Joseph Musanyufu and two police bosses to go on forced leave to pave way for investigations into alleged corruption relating to the maintenance of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras.

Besides Musanyufu, Museveni directed the Uganda Police Force undersecretary Aggrey Wunyi and director Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Assistant Inspector General of Police Felix Baryamwisaki, to go on forced leave.

Sources revealed that in a letter dated May 23, 2026, to the head of public service and secretary to the cabinet, Lucy Nakyobe, the three were sent on forced leave for six months pending investigations by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit.

“The directive followed a report compiled by the outgoing Internal Affairs Minister, Maj. Gen (rtd) Kahinda Otafiire about corruption in the ministry regarding the maintenance of CCTV cameras,” the source revealed.
