First Lady Janet Museveni work is shining model of service—Prof. Adaikalam

Binary University chairperson Prof. Joseph Adaikalam has praised First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Mrs Janet Kataaha Museveni, noting that her work stands as a shining model of dedicated service to the nation.

He made the remarks during the International Woman Icon Award 2025 ceremony held on November 22, 2025, at State House, Entebbe.

Mrs Janet Museveni received the award from the Centre for Women Studies at Binary University, Malaysia, in honour of her influential role and impact on countless lives across the nation.

Adaikalam said they are celebrating Mrs Janet Museveni, a woman whose compassion, integrity and lifelong dedication to education, family welfare, and national development have touched countless lives.

"Our mission is to recognise, honour and support women whose leadership uplifts families, communities and nations," he said.

Adaikalam said the award is the highest and most prestigious received by one person every year.

He stated that a vision to steer Uganda towards a middle-income status, anchored on stability, productivity, industrialisation and empowerment, is the Uganda's greatest asset to its people.

"The long-term vision is reshaping Uganda's economic landscape and inspiring confidence across the continent, " Adaikalam said.

Among the distinguished guests at the ceremony were John Muyingo (State Minister for Higher Education), Kasule Lumumba (Minister for General Duties), Alice Kaboyo (state minister in charge of Luwero Triangle), Dr Kedrace Turyagyenda (education ministry permanent secretary), Allen Kagina (chairperson Technical and Vocational Education and Training Council Uganda) and Joshua Lwere, a senior pastor of Grace Assembly Church.
