For years, the Government has been grappling with many cases of gender-based violence (GBV) in the country without a clear strategy.

Women activists say the only way to fight GBV is giving quality education to all women and men.

Kyambogo University council chairperson Mary Gorretti Nakabugo says education is a great tool that can change the mindset of women in society.

Nakabugo made the remarks as a chief guest at the post Women's Day celebrations.

It was celebrated under the theme: Count Her: Responsive Actions to Promote Sustainable Economic Inclusion for Women and Girls In Kyambogo University.

Now, Nakabugo observed that there is a great stride but called for more efforts to make it 100% noting women define the growth and development right from the family level.

According to her it's an educated woman that can think development than just begging. Nonetheless, Nakabugo said men should also be catered for to balance the gender and the system.
