Dubai firm loses sh23b ballot paper case against Electoral Commission
The contract was awarded to another Dubai-based company — Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing. In a ruling delivered on November 4, the tribunal said United Printing failed to meet critical technical requirements in its bid for the deal and that there was no legal flaw in the award of multiple lots to the winning bidder.
The PPDA Tribunal, chaired by Geofrey Nuwagira Kakira, agreed that the Electoral Commission acted lawfully in disqualifying United Printing and Publishing LLC from lots 1 and 2 of the sh23b ballot printing tender for the 2026 general election.
