MARACHA - In a scene straight out of a twisted fable, a routine bus journey on the Arua-Koboko road turned into a nightmare when an unexpected force of nature—an angry swarm of bees—brought tragedy to the highway.

The Nile Star Bus, en route from Kampala to Yumbe on the evening of February 20, 2025, became the unlikely stage for this freak accident, leaving one person dead—the driver himself.

Witnesses say the swarm of bees invaded the moving Bus causing it to overturn instantly after the driver lost control in Oleba sub-county in Maracha district.

Videos circulating on social media also show people thought to be rescuers dressed in protective gear against bees at the scene of the accident.
