Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Lino Anguzu has dropped trafficking and defilement charges against a Kampala city socialite, Nasser Nduhukire alias Don Nasser.
In 2024, Don Nasser was indicted before the International Crimes Division court for offences of aggravated trafficking and sexual exploitation of an underage girl.
However, during Tuesday (February 17, 2026) proceedings, a withdrawal letter dated February 4, 2026, signed by the DPP was presented before Justice Andrew Bashaija, in which Anguzu states that he has lost interest in pursuing the case.
The DPP does not state the reason for discontinuing proceedings against Don Nasser.
Prosecution had alleged that Don Nasser transported a 16-year-old girl from Tagore Living apartments in the Kampala city suburb of Kamwokya along Acacia Avenue and harboured her at his residence in Kito zone in Kira Division for four days (May 23-27, 2024), for purposes of sexual exploitation.
The Judge has further ordered that Don Nasser be given back the shillings three million he paid in court as bail deposit.
