Contractor starts work at Karuma
On Monday at around Midday, the bridge was completely closed to the public, and the contractor mobilised machinery and started work by first removing the asphalt.
Works and Transport Minister, Gen. Katumba Wamala, announced closure of the bridge effective Monday, September 23, 2024, for three months to pave the way for the contractor to concentrate on critical repairs. (File)

The China Railway Seven Group in partnership with NEC on Monday evening started rehabilitation works on Karuma Bridge.
The bridge was declared defective early this year and partialy closed
