Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) and insurance sector players at this year's Annual Insurance Week, which climaxed with the Insurance Innovation Awards on March 10, expressed optimism that increased awareness of insurance products will result in a boost in uptake.

It also emerged that client relations will go a long way in building the confidence of potential insurance customers because it allows them to make informed decisions on different products offered.

The insurance week was held from March 6 to March 9 at Railway Grounds and climaxed with the awards ceremony at Kampala Serena Hotel.

Insurance companies were rewarded for their innovations that have over the years spurred the uptake of insurance products.

Speaking exclusively to New Vision, Precious Gihana, the client relationship executive at Eagle Africa Insurance Brokers Uganda Limited underscored the relevance that comes with continuous stakeholder engagements.

“This year, we focused on stakeholder engagements to mark the insurance week. We visited some of our clients, underwriters, loss adjustors and healthcare providers, which presented us with an opportunity to receive invaluable feedback that we will use to reinforce our service charter," she said.

Gihana noted that the insurance trade is full of stringent regulations, processes and a myriad of systems that different players have built over the years.

Consumer awareness of these processes, regulations and systems can be a daunting task yet it is vital in streamlining workflows to improve our turnaround time.

“At Eagle Africa, we believe that the continuous stakeholder engagements will deliver simpler, faster and transparent processes that will result into a more pleasant customer experience," said Gihana.
