Discussion centred on the common interests of the two armies.
General Kainerugaba, according to a release from his office, assured his guest of the UPDF’s continued Pan-African spirit and commitment to supporting FACA through capacity-building initiatives.
Major General Mamadou highlighted the crucial role of UPDF support under the ongoing military cooperation agreement. He stated that the training provided across specialised, junior, and senior leadership levels has enabled FACA to fill command gaps and rebuild its military capacity. This progress, he noted, contributed to organising the country’s recent elections in a smooth security environment.
The visiting military leader also conveyed regards from the Central African Republic President H.E. Faustin-Archange Touadéra and the nation’s Ministry of Defence, thanking General Kainerugaba for the invitation.
The CDF's office revealed that the CAR military chief is scheduled to attend Uganda’s 45th Tarehe Sita celebrations on Friday in Kabale.
