SSEMBABULE - Residents of Ssembabule district have boosted the Chief of Defence Forces, also First Son Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba with 120 cows.
The residents say the move is a gesture of gratitude for his role in ensuring national and regional security. The donation, organised by local National Resistance Movement (NRM) party elders, was announced during a campaign rally in Ntusi sub-county on October 27, 2025.
Ntusi town council chairperson Emmanuel Kamihingo revealed that the cows were collected from farms across Ssembabule and presented to Gen. MK (a nickname for Muhozi) during his Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) mobilisation tour in the Greater Masaka region last year.
“The cows have multiplied since we donated them to MK,” Kamihingo said, emphasising the need to formalise the handover with a ceremony.
Microfinance state minister Haruna Kasolo, also PLU regional co-ordinator, pledged to oversee the delivery of the livestock to MK.
Back Museveni
Speaking at the rally, Kasolo urged Ssembabule residents to back President Museveni in the 2026 General Election, linking stability to their livelihoods.
“If we want our farms and cows in Ssembabule to remain safe, President Museveni must return after the next elections,” he said.
Kasolo also addressed land disputes in Lwemiyaga, where locals have faced delays in acquiring land titles under the Government’s ranch restructuring scheme.
“The Attorney General will convene a special court session to resolve these issues,” he said, responding to concerns raised by Lwemiyaga’s parliamentary flag-bearer, Gen. (rtd) Emmanuel Rwashande.
The minister cautioned NRM leaders against compromising on party primaries, warning against supporting independent candidates.
“We must uphold party unity; otherwise, primaries lose their purpose,” Kasolo said.
