With just about five weeks to the grand celebration of the centenary of Lubaga Cathedral, Christians and other people of goodwill have made more cash donations towards the preparatory activities of the function.
On Wednesday (September 24), representatives of the various Catholic chaplaincies made a pilgrimage of faith to Lubaga Cathedral and pronounced their respective cash donations.

They included among others Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga Chaplaincy (sh5m), Our Lady Queen of Africa Rubaga Girls’ SS (sh30m), Uganda Martyrs Catholic Chaplaincy, Kyambogo University (sh6.2m), Lubaga Hospital (sh2m), Joseph/Josephine Association (sh2.1m), Ministry with Grandparents and the Elderly (sh1.7m) and Christ Communion and Liberation (sh1m).
Other donors included Hon. Dr. Robert Ssebunnya (sh500,000), and St. Pontian Ngondwe Catholic parish (sh2.5m). A total of sh52.6m was raised during the function.
The money was received by the Vicar General of Kampala Archdiocese, Rev. Msgr. Rogers Kabuye, who lauded the respective donors for their generosity and commitment to the preparatory activation of the centenary of Lubaga Cathedral.

The Vice-Chairman of Lubaga Cathedral Centennial Committee, Michael Ssebbowa, called upon Christians and all people of goodwill to donate more money so that all the proposed centennial projects are accomplished.
According to the Chairman of the fundraising committee, Hon. John Fred Kiymba Freeman, at least sh900m is still needed to pull off the budget of the function.
The grand celebration of the centenary of Lubaga Cathedral will take place at the cathedral on October 26.
