A few days after guiding BUL FC to the first-ever Uganda Cup title, head coach Alex Musongola Isabirye has rubbished reports of his team being under pressure to challenge for the league title next season.

Isabirye was speaking as he handed over the trophy to his bosses at Bidco Uganda limited headquarters in Jinja.

"Winning the league title involves a lot of preparations. You need to give a lot of credit to Vipers FC and the past recent winners for winning it because they did a lot of preparations. It's not all about money. We all know that my players are young and very inexperienced to challenge for the league title," said Isabirye.

Asked whether he will be able to defend the cup, Isabirye said all teams will love to win the cup next season.

"I love to prove to my doubters wrong and that has indeed helped me win three Uganda cup titles with three different clubs. Proline FC won the Uganda Cup but is now struggling in the regional league. That shows that once you win a title, you must maintain your playing staff and add a few quality ones. This will enhance consistency," added Isabirye.

Isabirye says he will promote four players from the club's youths system to the senior team next season.
