Kampala socialite Brian Kirumira, also known as Bryan White, has asked the family of the late Caroline Nalubwama to forgive him, maintaining that he was not responsible for her death.
Nalubwama, 25, is the alleged victim in a case in which Bryan White and several co-accused face charges related to human sacrifice.
When the matter came up for mention before Chief Magistrate Sarah Basemera on March 17, 2026, the court was informed that the state attorney, Caroline Apia, was indisposed.
The magistrate also noted that investigations into the case are still ongoing, prompting an adjournment to April 16 for further mention.
During the proceedings, Basemera allowed Bryan White to address the court.

He told the court that he is suffering while on remand, citing severe pain and difficulty in walking.
In closed chambers, he reportedly appealed to the deceased’s family for forgiveness.
“I am sorry for what happened to your daughter, but I am not the one who caused her death. I am suffering in prison and in great pain; I cannot even walk,” he said.
Bryan White appeared alongside his wife, Naava Nakato, and co-accused Daisy Nalunga, Daphine Abaho, and Joyce Irene Nambalirwa, the administrator of Mukyala Mabirizi Nursing Home.
He faces multiple charges, including human sacrifice, manslaughter, doing a rash or negligent act causing death, and possession of marijuana.
The magistrate advised the accused persons to apply for bail before the High Court.
Under Ugandan law, manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment upon conviction, while human sacrifice is punishable by death.
Bryan White, Nakato, Nalunga and Abaho are also charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and giving false information.
Nambalirwa faces charges of manslaughter and doing a rash or negligent act causing death.
Allegations
Prosecution alleges that on October 22, 2025, in Kyamula zone, Makindye division, Kampala, Bryan White killed Nalubwama for purposes of performing or furthering witchcraft, ritual or other unlawful acts.
It is further alleged that between October 22 and 27, 2025, at Kiruddu Hospital in Makindye division, he unlawfully caused her death by burning.
On the charge of a rash and negligent act, prosecution states that Bryan White handled combustible materials without taking necessary precautions against probable danger.
The prosecution also alleges that he was found in possession of marijuana, a narcotic drug.
Bryan White, Nakato, Nalunga and Abaho are accused of conspiring to commit a felony, specifically the ritual killing of Nalubwama.
It is alleged that the four lit candle wax in a room while massaging her body with a mixture of petrol and ghee as they consumed honey.
They are further accused of knowingly giving false information to Detective Bruce Tumwebaze and Inspector of Police Betty Monica Kyakuwaire at Mildmay Uganda Hospital, Katwe Police Station and Kampala Metropolitan South offices.
According to the prosecution, the accused falsely claimed that Nalubwama sustained burns and was admitted to Kiruddu Hospital, whereas she had been taken to Mabirizi Nursing Home.
The prosecution contends that the accused were aware the information was false and that it misled investigators.
Meanwhile, Nambalirwa is accused of causing Nalubwama’s death by negligently failing to refer her to a higher-level health facility for further treatment.
Prosecution argues that her actions, though not amounting to manslaughter, directly contributed to the victim’s death.
Background
Bryan White rose to prominence in Uganda’s entertainment industry through the Bryan White Foundation, which gained attention around 2018 for distributing large sums of money to selected artistes.
Reports indicate that Nalubwama met Bryan White in Saudi Arabia, where she had been working, and later returned with him to Uganda, settling at his home in Makindye.
On October 22, 2025, the two allegedly got into a dispute, although the cause of the disagreement remains unclear.
