Avoid bitterness and hatred, they will destroy you.

Esther 5:9

Haman went out that day happy and in high spirits. But when he saw Mordecai at the king’s gate and observed that he neither rose nor showed fear in his presence, he was filled with rage against Mordecai.

🧏‍♀️ Hatred and bitterness are like weeds with long roots that grow in the heart and corrupt all of life. Haman was so consumed with hatred towards Mordecai that he could not even enjoy the honour of being invited to Esther's party.

Almighty God, thank You for the love You have for us. May no poisonous root of bitterness grow up to trouble me, we pray that we do not let hatred and its resulting bitterness build in our hearts. May there be love and peace among us. Amen
