MARACHA - Maracha district-based listeners of Arua One FM went into early Independence Day celebrations with the return of Rig Truck activation, commonly known as Garimoshi.
The thrilling rig activation of Arua One FM, dubbed Garimoshi, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, brought a moment of joy and award-winning competition among revellers at Nyadri Market.
The captivating show, where Arua One FM, a sister company of Vision Group, presenters and partners engaged the mammoth crowd at the centre of the town, became a blast when revellers were treated with comedy segments, entertainment and performance by the listeners who showcased their dancing styles on stage during the time of awards.
There were also performances by the local artistes whose performances mesmerised the already charged listeners, dancing the evening away into Independence Day.
Hundreds of lucky listeners also won a lot of freebies from Arua One FM and partners like MTN Uganda, Zongshen and Dura Motors, among others.
Miriam Ajio, a resident of Baria parish, Nyadri sub-county, whom the crowd recommended to receive an award for being the best singer, went home with Arua One Fm T-shirt.

She appreciated Arua One FM for running several educational on-air programmes on the radio that she loves to listen to so much.
“I was just from Rhino Camp, and when they told me that Garimoshi is coming to Nyadri, I immediately rushed to the venue, and I was among the first five people who arrived here. I am happy that I have won an Arua One FM T-shirt, I want them to continue with the good works they are doing to empower the community through the good messages," Ajio said.
Beware of fake news
She appealed to the people of Maracha to always listen to Arua One FM, especially during this political period, where a lot of wrong information will be disseminated.
Vincent Abiribale, another resident of Maracha district, narrated interesting moments that captured his attention during the event, saying it was his first time attending the Rig activation.
“I enjoy each and every thing happening here and I wish it continued longer, but unfortunately, Maracha has not been on the programme for long. My appeal is that such interesting sessions need to be brought to us often, such that we share experiences and identify with the radio” Abiribale said.
Partners happy
George Andama, the managing director of J.J Auto parts dealers in Zongshen Tricycles, one of the partners of Arua one Garimoshi used the occasion to educate listeners about their products and free tricycle servicing offer during GARIMOSHI.

According to him, the partnership with Arua One FM during this rig activation, now in its second year, has been profitable and fruitful as he looks forward to future partnerships with the radio and Vision Group at large.
Alfred Ejoyi, a dealer in device sales with MTN Uganda, another partner, said he greatly benefited from product sales over the last five years of their partnership with Arua One FM and Vision Group in organising the annual rig truck event.
He also commended the good mobilisation that has seen the venue filled to capacity.
“As MTN, we commit to continue with the partnership as we have been doing for more than five years now, and I see the partnership is getting stronger and the momentum keeps increasing, which shows the impact of this radio in the region,” Ejoyi said.
Patrick Mungufeni, commonly known as man pato, the team leader from Vision Group, described the event of Maracha as successful, likening massive turnout and business opportunity it created in a short period of time.
He said this annual initiative is to give back to the community and to bridge the gap between the radio and the listeners through physical interactions.
He also thanked the partners like the MTN and Zongshen, among others, for their resilience and trust in Vision Group as the major platform to deliver their information to the customers.
“We will continue to make it better every year because this is the only major platform we have to interact with our listeners; it is not only the gifts, entertainment, but also the life-transforming information that is passed during different sessions,” Mungufeni said.
The Rig truck activation for this year, unlike previous years that happened throughout the week, will only take place in three venues Nyadri market in Maracha district, Kampala Market in Arua district on Thursday and Friday, October 10, it will head to Kubala market in Terego district.
