Arua District has received two new vehicles for the district chairperson and the Police to improve service delivery.
The two vehicles were unveiled and blessed on Monday at the district headquarters in Odumi.
Presiding over the blessings Service, Rev. Solomon Drasiku, the Parish Priest of Christ Church Ambala Parish in Vurra Archdeaconry, said the vehicles will help improve service delivery and make the officials reach the community with ease.
Sheikh Musa Noah Ori, the county Sheikh of Vurra Muslim County, was among the religious leaders at the events.
Alfred Okuonzi, the district chairperson Arua, says for the last 12 years, Arua district has been operating without an official car for the office of the district chairperson.
Okuonzi also warned the police to desist from extorting fuel from members of the public but use the fuel card provided by the Uganda Police Force.
The two vehicles are a police patrol car with registration number UP 03027 and that of the chairperson a Toyota Double Cabin with registration number UG 3400188.
