Ssemogerere says both girls and boys need to be brought up morally at an early stage to ensure a bright future for them.

The archbishop made the call on August 11, 2023, while presiding over the commissioning and purification of a classroom block named after him at Queen of Martyrs Secondary School- Kigoma in Wakiso district.

He urged the students to desist from all forms of temptations that will ruin their future.

"God created man to live much longer on earth. When you die at a tender age because of avoidable messes such as HIV and AIDS, expect questions from God on the day of judgement," he said.

He said students should always take advantage of sacrifices by their parents to pay school fees and other requirements and the conducive learning environment offered by schools to brighten their future.

Kampala Capital City and metropolitan affairs minister Kyofatogabye Kabuye, who is the school's director, said naming the school block after Archbishop Ssemwogere is symbolic of appreciation for his spiritual nurturing right from the time he was still Kasana Luwero bishop.
