The state minister for higher education, John Chrysostom Muyingo has released the November/December 2023 final semester examination results of the Uganda Allied Health Examinations Board.

Muyingo noted that there was a general increase in the number of candidates who sat the exam from 7,217 the previous year to 7,376 (7β„…) this year.

Similarly, the number of female candidates increased from 2,873 the previous year 2022/2023 to 3,154 (11β„…)."

 

He however said that more effort is still required to attract female students into allied professional education and training.

The report indicates that out of the 7,376 candidates assessed, 6,016 (82β„…) passed the examinations.

“There is also a notable smaller number of students enrolling for higher diploma programmes in ENT, audiology, clinical psychiatry and clinical ophthalmology. This is regrettable and yet these programmes are critical in contributing to effective health service delivery, " Muyingo said
