KAMPALA - The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Uganda has today, November 17, 2025, convened for a two-day session that will see the election of Field presidents (bishops).
The ninth session of Uganda Union Mission at Imperial Botanical Beach Hotel in Entebbe is expected to pick executive secretaries and executive treasurers for those entities.
Seventh-day Adventist Church regional head (East and Central African Division president) Pr Dr Blasius Ruguri, and executive secretary, Pr Dr Moses Maka, are presiding over the session where each church entity will present their progressive reports and challenges for the past quinquennium.
The new leaders will serve for a period of five years (2025-2030).
Elections in the Seventh-day Adventist Church at the field level (conferences/missions) are conducted by a constituency session, where elected representatives from local churches gather to select leaders through a nominating process.
This ensures the "grassroots" nature of the church's governance is maintained.
