48 ‘missing' EAC Pensioners files discovered, sent for urgent verification

Highly placed sources say, the files in question were initially held by the Public Service Ministry and were seized by the police for investigation following the 2012 pension scandal, which led to the interdiction of the then Permanent Secretary (PS) Jimmy Lwamafa.

Government has revealed that forty-eight files of pensioners, long thought to have vanished into thin air while in the custody of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), have been dispatched to the internal auditor general for verification.
