Their ceremony took place at the Katooke Town Council playground and was presided over by Thadeo Kasaija, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kyenjojo District.
Kasija urged the learners to become ambassadors of Uganda by engaging in positive activities such as tree planting, innovation and community service.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Muhweezi Matsiko, representing the Kyenjojo District Police Commander (DPC), praised the students for acquiring military basics and physical fitness during their training.

He noted that the skills gained would help them in self-defence and discipline.
Noting that only five schools participated in the patriotism program, he encouraged more institutions to embrace the initiative.
Agnes Nabitula, the headteacher of Katooke Secondary School and a key mobilizer, called on authorities to encourage wider participation among schools, explaining that patriotism is not about political affiliation or President Museveni, but about learning, loving and protecting Uganda.
District Education Officer Amos Karamagi advised the students to make good use of their time in school by creating study timetables and focusing on academics.
Compulsory participation
He revealed plans to write to the Ministry of Education requesting a directive for all secondary schools to take part in patriotism programs.
The students who were passed out were drawn from Katooke SS, Katooke Modern SS, Nyankwanzi High School, King David SS, and Bufunjo Seed SS. They expressed gratitude to their trainers.
They shared that they had learned the importance of physical health through exercise, self-defence and the value of loving and defending their country.
