Platinum sponsors of the 2026 Harvest Money Expo have highlighted the event’s growing impact on farmers, youth and agribusiness value chains, describing it as a key platform for promoting sustainable agriculture and investment-ready farming in Uganda.

This year's edition is set to take place from February 27 to March 1 at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in the capital Kampala.

In the lead-up to the much-anticipated expo, development organisation Heifer International said the annual event organised by multimedia company Vision Group provides a national stage to showcase practical, market-driven agricultural solutions.

“Heifer has evolved from giving out livestock to promoting sustainable, market-driven agriculture,” said programme director Ronald Wabwire on Tuesday (February 3) during the expo launch at the New Vision head office in Kampala.

Wabwire said that Heifer, which has operated in Uganda since 1982, will showcase agricultural technologies it has promoted for over 44 years.

He said the expo offers young agripreneurs an opportunity to network, fundraise and engage sector leaders.

'Farmers ready to invest'

Pearl Bank, formerly Post Bank, said it has deliberately aligned its strategy with agriculture for the last five years.

“We are proud to sponsor an expo that delivers real impact,” said Julius Akais Osauro, the bank’s supervisor for agriculture and partnerships.

Engineering firm Engineering Solutions (ENGSOL)’s representative, Med Mwiri, said the expo has significantly changed farmer behaviour.

“Farmers used to come and simply do window shopping. Now they come ready to invest in equipment and inputs,” he said.

Mwiri revealed that ENGSOL will unveil new products at this year's edition as the company marks 25 years of operation in Uganda.

Contract farming

The Uganda Development Corporation (UDC), partnering with Vision Group for a second successive year, said its return followed the success of the 2025 edition.

UDC’s head of corporate affairs, Denis Dokoria, who represented the executive director, said agriculture and agro-manufacturing are central to UDC’s mandate of catalysing economic development.

“Over the past decade, aBi Development has supported the Harvest Money Expo in various ways, driven by a shared commitment to transforming Uganda’s agrifood sector,” said Isaac Boateng, the organisation’s chief programmes officer.

He commended the Ugandan government for creating an enabling environment for private sector-led agricultural transformation, and acknowledged the continued support of the Royal Danish Embassy and the European Union.

He said this year’s support, like last year’s, will focus on strengthening the Danish Village — a dedicated space showcasing European Union and Danish agricultural technologies and solutions.

Other sponsors, including Tunga Nutrition, described the Harvest Money Expo as a one-stop hub for agricultural solutions for Uganda and the wider region.
