Revise divorce law to ensure equality for men, court rules

The court observed that the impugned provisions accord rights to women, particularly concerning property ownership, contractual capacity and protection of assets during judicial separation, without extending similar entitlements to men.

The justices said any rights relating to property during judicial separation and/or the status of any of the parties during the same period must be enjoyed by both the husband and the wife.
