BUIKWE - Church of Uganda Archbishop Dr Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu has asked employers to desist from mistreating workers.

According to the prelate, mistreatment kills the morale of workers and causes their failure to achieve their dreams.

He made the call as he celebrated 40 years of holy matrimony with his wife, Margret at St Andrews Church in Kitega, Kawolo division in Lugazi municipality, Buikwe district. It is here that Kaziimba revealed that they wedded in 1984 and he commended God for always guiding and protecting him and his family from their youthful years to date.

He asked the Christians to always entrust themselves to God and be patient.

Rebukes Christians who sued him

He condemned the Christians who dragged him and the House of Bishops to courts of law.

He wondered how the Christians could drag religious leaders to courts of law. According to him, the motive of these Christians is to make sure that the Archbishop and the bishops are imprisoned. The bishop asked who would confirm the children into Christianity when the bishops are in prison.

Kaziimba first baptised his grandchildren inside St Andrew’s Church and prayed for both the baptised and the unborn babies to always grow in the Anglican faith while fearing the Lord.

While preaching,  Central Buganda Diocese bishop emeritus Jackson Matovu told the congregation that Archbishop Kazimba is a lovely man of God who is not greedy and not money-minded.

After the service, Kaziimba and his wife broke the ground of the new St Andrew’s church, which is expected to cost shillings 2.2 billion.

Kazimba handed over shillings 40 million and three thousand bags of cement to the construction team of the church. which he collected from his friends

During the service at the church, over shillings 100 million was collected. Lugazi MP Stephen Sserubula donated four million shillings, while Buikwe Woman MP who doubles as the state minister in the office of the Vice-President Diana Mutasingwa, together with her husband also handed over two million to facilitate the construction of the new church.
