The late Dr Simon Peter Mukhama, the former General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Bible Society of Uganda who passed on last Friday (May 12, 2023) was an active parishioner of the Church of the Resurrection, Bugoloobi.

He was also an influential member of the church’s affiliate youth ministry, Disciples Youth Fellowship. It is for that reason that the church’s Christian community deemed it right and just to organize a special requiem service in his honour and memory.

Mukhama’s funeral service at Bugoloobi Anglican Church of the Resurrection took place on Sunday (May 14, 2023).  It attracted hundreds of mourners who included clerics, lay Christians and people of goodwill.

Delivering the homily during the service, the Bishop Emeritus of North Kigezi diocese, Dr. Edward Muhima paid glorious tribute to Dr. Mukhama for his impactful ministry at the Bible Society.

He asked Christians to emulate Mukhama’s Christian zeal and commitment.

Several Christian leaders who included the church‘s head of the laity, Billy Birungi and the area MP Engineer Ronald Balimwezo also appreciated the Biblical ministry of Dr Mukhama.

The late Dr. Simon Peter Mukhama will be laid to rest at his country home at Nabumali, Mbale district on Tuesday (May 16, 2023).
