“In Zombo, this is the health facility I have visited that is very clean and the health workers are attending to the patients. When we engaged the patients, they assured us that the services were very okay despite the in charge being on leave," said Twinomugisha.

Zombo district's Warr Health Centre IV has been commended for its effective service delivery.

The health facility that operates as the only district hospital was among the government facilities visited by the Deputy Inspector General of Government, Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe, during her spot-checks in the West Nile region.

Twinomugisha is in West Nile to conduct spot-checks in selected government facilities, including health centres and schools to assess the level of service delivery and to rally leaders to fight corruption.

The tour follows various complaints from the population and whistleblowers over rampant cases of absenteeism and extortion in government facilities in the region.

Twinomugisha, however, during an impromptu visit to Warr Health Centre IV on Thursday discovered that by 10:00am, unlike the other facilities visited earlier, almost all the health workers at Warr were at the facility ready to serve the patients.

The relatively clean facility was also fully stocked with drugs as she lauded the stakeholders at the facility and district for their dedication and zeal to serve the community.

“In Zombo, this is the health facility I have visited that is very clean and the health workers are attending to the patients. When we engaged the patients, they assured us that the services were very okay despite the in charge being on leave," the deputy IGG said.

"Almost all other staff were fully performing their duties and drugs were available almost in every department," she added.

Grace Oleru, the Zombo district vice-chairperson, attributed the good service delivery at Warr Health Centre IV to close supervision since it acts as the district hospital.

“I am pleased with your finding in Warr Health Centre IV and it is true simply because as a district we do not have a district hospital and we are relying on the health facility for better health delivery and we all closely supervise and ensure that the drugs supplied at the facility serve the right purpose," Oleru said.
