As Uganda awaits to join the rest of the world to commemorate World Mosquito Day, MPs on the Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Malaria want the health ministry to allocate 10% of its budget to the malaria fight.

The chairperson of the forum, Timothy Batua, who doubles as the Jinja West MP, said while speaking ahead of World Mosquito Day on August 20th that at least 52 people die of malaria every day in Uganda, and the country loses over 50,000 people; hence the need for urgent attention to arrest the situation.
