Light for the World Country Director Sylvester Kasozi noted that improving children’s vision helps them learn better, gain employment, and contribute to Uganda’s long-term goals, such as Vision 2040.

The organisation also plans to collaborate with government ministries to promote tax incentives for eye care equipment and services.

Programme Head Denish Lubangakene added that the initiative aims to train more health workers and teachers to detect and support children with visual impairments, ensuring that every child, regardless of background, can access quality eye care.

As Uganda moves toward 2030, stakeholders hope that better vision for every child will mean a brighter and more productive future for the nation.
