Eight suspected land grabbers were on Thursday, April 25, 2024, paraded before Court in Wakiso district.

The suspects were charged over alleged forcible entry and malicious damage of property and remanded to prison until May 8, 2024.

The eight were arrested by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU) jointly working with the Criminal Investigation Directorate (CID) on April 6, 2024.

SHACU, in a statement released on Thursday evening, said the eight: Edith Nabwami, David Kakule, Nathan Junju Kato, Margaret Nakimbugwe, Fredrick Musisi Kantu, Stephen Semakadde, Arafat Ndawula, Siraji Seruyange and others still at large, forcibly entered, graded and subdivided five acres in Muyomba Village, Busiro county in Wakiso, belonging to Henry Kityo.

In an interview with New Vision Online, Kityo thanked SHACU for intervening in his matter and said the accused persons had frustrated his efforts to access his land.

“I have been frustrated and had lost hope. Thank you SHACU. Grateful that I may finally access justice,” Kityo said.
