Chairman of West Acholi chiefs passes on at 57

According to Okello Okuna, the acting prime minister who doubles as the communication officer of Ker Kwaro Acholi, Rwot Oola passed on February 4, 2024, at around 10:20 am when he was diagnosed with diabetes and Hepatitis B.

Rwot Peter Oola Ojigi, the clan chief of Aloko Lum, passed away on Sunday morning at St Mary’s Hospital Lacor, where he had gone for treatment.

According to Okello Okuna, the acting prime minister who doubles as the communication officer of Ker Kwaro Acholi, Rwot Oola passed on February 4, 2024, at around 10:20 am when he was diagnosed with diabetes and Hepatitis B.

“Rwot Oola Ojigi has been ill for some time, he was diagnosed with diabetes and Hepatitis B, he went to Nakasero Hospital where they did a diagnosis and found a lot of damage in his internal organs that affected his internal system,” Okuna said.

Okuna said Rwot Oola was later referred back to Gulu where he was taken to Gulu Independent Hospital and thereafter, he was transferred to St Mary’s Hospital Lacor where he passed on.

He said his body was taken to the 4th Division Infantry Hospital cold room as they prepare for his burial.

Okuna said Oola Ojigi died at age 57 and called upon the family members and the people of Acholi to be strong in this trying moment

Rwot Oola was the chairman of Rwodi (chiefs) in the West Acholi districts of Gulu, Omoro, Amuru and Nwoya.
