This accessibility has sparked widespread discussion, seen as both positive and negative. While it fosters a stronger bond between the celebrities and fans, it also exposes them to threats, overwhelming requests, and insults.

Ugandan crooner Sam Ssemwogerere, popularly known as Zulitums, renowned for hits like "Uberman," "Easy," "Oluvanyuma," and others, has experienced firsthand the implications of this enhanced fan access. In a recent interview, the singer, songwriter, and record producer hinted at a particularly extreme fan encounter. He revealed that a fan had asked him to enter into a romantic relationship, illustrating the misconception some fans have about artistes' humanity.

"Fans' requests should be respected and kept within reasonable bounds because some can be complex and unsettling. They often perceive us as not being as human as they are. One fan even proposed marriage, stating that even if I had a thousand other partners, she would still want to be one of them as long as I made time for her," Zulitums remarked.

As such requests pour in, the question arises: can they realistically be fulfilled? Not long ago, a video of a female fan requesting to touch singer Moses Ssali, also known as Bebe Cool, went viral. In the footage, Bebe Cool invited the fan onto the stage and allowed her to touch any part of his body, a gesture that shocked the public.

Beyond the African continent, singer Taylor Swift is renowned for accommodating some unusual requests from her fans. Years ago, one of her fans reportedly asked her out on a date, to which she agreed and followed through. Additionally, she accepted an invitation to a fan's wedding, attending and even performing for free.

Like Zulitums, numerous other celebrities worldwide have shared stories of receiving bizarre requests from fans. Actress Kate Hudson, for instance, disclosed in an interview years ago that fans often ask her to accompany them to their prom or to be their date.
