As the debate over sexual exploitation in the creative sector continues to provoke discussions, singer Mudra D'Viral, also known as Alfa Sebunya, finds himself embroiled in controversy.
Some online commentators have accused him of managing only female artistes to engage in romantic relationships with them.
Following the departure of singer Ava Peace to Jeff Kiwa's Team No Sleep (TNS), Mudra recently signed another female star, Winnie Wa Mummy, a TikToker. Many have already speculated that he is romantically involved with her under the guise of management.
Addressing these allegations, the Muyayu hitmaker stated that he is unfazed by claims that he dates the female artistes he manages, choosing instead to focus on their success. He explained that he prefers managing women.
"Girls are easy to control unlike men who are not submissive. The only challenging aspect of managing female musicians is their makeup and dressing," Mudra stated.
Contrasting his experiences with male artistes, Mudra cited a situation with his former artiste, Vian Music, who, he claimed, took their issues to the media, ultimately leading to their separation.
Despite the controversies, Mudra has enjoyed significant success working with female artistes as a writer, singer, and manager, including collaborations with Vinka, Sheebah and Ava Peace.
