Jose Chameleone, 45 has bowed down to economic hardships in the country and reduced his “Legend in Gold” concert ticket prices from sh370, 000 to sh150,000.
In a video he shared on his social media accounts this year in March, Chameleone announced that he was to organize a concert he dubbed Legend in Gold on August 31 at Serena Hotel. In the weeks that followed, word circulated that revellers would have to pay $100 (sh370, 000) for the show. He later confirmed the amount.
However, at a recent press conference, the small-bodied singer swallowed his own words. He said that after consultations with the team organizing the show, it was resolved that the ticket prices would be reduced to accommodate all his fans.

“The economy is not favourable to many of the people,” he said. “We have also started promoting the show late and my fans have very limited time to save that kind of money,” he explained.
The press conference took place a day before Iryn Namubiru’s concert which was announced as sold out. Tickets for her show went for sh150,000.
Chameleone said he has been holding concerts but this is going to be a celebration of the 25 years he has been in the music industry.
“It is very important to me that after 25 years in the music industry, I get to celebrate myself,” he said. Chameleone says that he wonders how he has managed to remain in the business for 25 years, which is almost half his age.
For his fans to prepare for the show, the controversial musicians advised them to go and listen to his old songs, which he termed as golden.
Meanwhile, as part of his silver jubilee anniversary celebrations, his fans are encouraged to send him money as a token of appreciation. Airtel has created the 4371761 merchant code for people that purpose.
