The Bride & Groom Expo continues to make dreams come true for couples.

For this year's winner, Francis Alvin Mweru, and his partner Phionah Watsemba, the dream was first and foremost created by Bride & Groom, and then turned into reality. 

A flight to Kenya to the coast of Indian Ocean for a romantic getaway never crossed the minds of the young lovebirds as they went about striving to make ends meet. 

Mweru, 37 years, has two children with Watsemba.

On Wednesday, the couple flew – their first time on an aircraft – to Southern Palms Beach Resort in Diani, Kenya for an unforgettable two-night holiday after Mweru won the grand prize of ‘two-night honeymoon destination’ at the Bride & Groom Expo in June. 

The trip was fully sponsored by Uganda Airlines and Twende Uganda.

The couple enjoyed the flight on Uganda Airlines bombardier, describing it as pleasantly smooth – without the turbulences that they heard about and dreaded.

Mweru and Watsemba’s delightful experience in the air was only a precursor of the five-star holidaying adventure that awaited them at the Southern Palms Beach Resort.

For Mweru, the whole adventure was gratifying and challenged him to deliberately making time for his relationship and family.
