Contrary to widely held belief that wellness is just a fad, it has evolved into a significant million-dollar global market driven by a deep-rooted desire for holistic well-being.

The wellness market has seen a consistent growth and is forecast to continue its expansion due to its importance across generations, especially the young ones like Gen Z.

For many, fitness nutrition, mindfulness, and stress reduction are ingrained in their daily lifestyles.

It is for that reason that Uganda has launched the first ever Modern Wellness Expo, set for next month. Uganda witnessed the launch of the Glow Summit 2025, the country’s flagship Modern Wellness Expo, on 29th August 2025 at Fontis Residences Hotel, Kampala.

Organized by Breathe Easy Uganda with support from the Ministry of Health (Department of Non-Communicable Diseases), the summit introduces a new era of wellness designed to elevate holistic living from luxury to lifestyle.

Set for 12th October 2025 in Kampala, the Glow Summit will gather top brands and innovators in health, wellness, beauty, fitness, aesthetics, and technology, while giving the public direct access to modern wellness solutions.

“In Uganda, wellness has often been reactive or seen as a luxury. The Glow Summit redefines that. We are introducing wellness as proactive, stylish, and part of everyday life,” said Levi Okiria, Associate Director, Breathe Easy Uganda.

Okiria says that the Glow summit positions wellness as a modern, accessible and desirable for all Ugandans. He says that during the summit, they will showcase innovations in self-care and holistic living, promote collaboration between practitioners, entrepreneurs and the public, build a culture of wellness and give brands visibility.

He reveals that the expo will feature providers across skincare and beauty tech, hair restoration, oxygen vars and IV therapy, smart wellness devices, mental wellness and therapy and women health.  Others will draw from spas, massage and fitness, nutrition and supplements, cosmetic dentistry and dermatology, organic and herbal brands and medical aesthetics and lifestyle clinics.

The Glow Simmit will extend into the Kampala Be Well week, a city-wide activation expected to give Ugandans a hands-on opportunity to experience wellness, between 2nd and 8th November.

Dr. James Ocakacon, a Senior Medical Officer, Ministry of Health – NCD’s Prevention & Control Department endorsed the summit and revealed the Wellness Expo will showcase modern wellness products. He encouraged the public to visit participating clinics, studios, and wellness centers.

“We are here to support the awareness of preventive care through campaigns, and Be Well Week will give every Ugandan an opportunity to try out either a health check-up or a new wellness service,” Dr. Ocakacon said.
