The Toto Christmas Festival 2023 not only inspired young minds, but it also lived up to its billing in entertaining them.

Children from all walks of life, from in and around Kampala, thronged the Sheraton Kampala Hotel in droves, accompanied by their parents who were equally ready to have fun on the day.

The entertainment at the event was top notch, prompting the children to chorus for more. Shortly after every performance, people had to be reminded to keep a close eye on their children, who would have wandered off, around the gardens.

After a musical performance from comedian Amooti Mubalanguzi, parents were scampering in search of children who had either gone to the play area or were taken up by the entertaining and had lost sight of their parents. Other people were seen looking for shoes, bags or even mobile phones.

While all that was going on, the MCs of the day, Lynnette Xen of Urban TV and Bruno Betty of Bukedde TV immediately announced the arrival of Spice Diana to the ululations of the fully packed audience. She quickly jumped on stage with her flagship song, a collaboration with Weasle Manizo, followed with another collaboration with Omulangira Suna before going for her controversial song, 32.

These were later followed by her singles in both English and Luganda. Because of her connection with the audience, she sang along with them and crowned it all with an cappella from one of the youngsters.

The children could not hide their ecstasy screaming their lungs out in joy. The festival was sponsored by Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Indomie Noodles, Gombe Education Service, Dennan Baby to Kids and Jesa Farm Dairy. It ran under the theme, Inspiring Young Minds.
