Renowned Ugandan dancer Ritah Dancehall, celebrated for her captivating performances in numerous music videos and grand music stages, has assured her fans of a shift in her wardrobe choices.

She made the commitment during an appearance on Urban TV on January 9, 2024.

Acknowledging the backlash she received for her dress code and dynamic dance moves, the dancer revealed that her fans had expressed concerns about the perceived erosion of Ugandan culture.

She stated unequivocally that she would no longer don revealing outfits, expressing a desire to present herself in a more refined manner to address her fans' concerns about her previous dressing.

"I am not going to put on those clothes again. This year, I want to start putting on well so well so that some of my fans can stop complaining about my dirty dresscode. Most of them say they like the way I dance, but they do not like the way I dress," Ritah said.

While highlighting the rapid growth of the dance entertainment sector, Ritah Dancehall noted persistent challenges, particularly in public perception and recognition from fellow entertainers. She emphasised the lack of dedicated sections for dancers in award platforms, advocating for greater acknowledgment of their contributions.

Ritah urged her peers in the dance industry to draw inspiration from their international counterparts, emphasising the importance of dedication, practice, and the pursuit of dreams.

Stressing unity among dancers, she asserted that collective collaboration would propel them to greater achievements.

"I admire dancers from other countries; they are dedicated and invest significantly in their careers, paying attention to fashion, aesthetics, and more. When you see them, you witness a complete brand. This is a model Ugandans should adopt," Ritah remarked.

Ritah has shared the stage with acclaimed artists such as Tanzania's Harmonize and Diamond Platnumz, as well as Jamaica's Konshens. Her performances extend globally, including appearances in the UK, the UAE, and various other countries.

Currently serving as a dance instructor, dancer, and makeup artist, she continues to make a mark in the entertainment industry.
