Legendary Congolese gospel group Makoma arrived in Uganda at Entebbe International Airport shortly towards midnight on Tuesday, March 3, arriving from France to a warm welcome from fans and organisers eager to witness their return, ahead of their highly anticipated concert this Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in Kampala, as part of New Vision’s 40th anniversary celebrations.

The visit marks Makoma’s first performance in Uganda in 25 years, rekindling memories for longtime followers of the iconic gospel group. The rest of the group is expected to arrive in the country soon as preparations intensify for the landmark concert.

Renowned for their electrifying stage presence and timeless gospel hits such as Napesi, Butu Na Moyi, and Mokili Ekobaluka, Makoma has promised Ugandan fans an unforgettable evening filled with worship, praise, and powerful music.

On Wednesday, members of the celebrated ensemble, Nathalie and Pengani Makoma, paid a courtesy call to Vision Group headquarters, where they met Vision Group staff and later addressed the media alongside Vision Group CEO Don Wanyama. The group also visited Rubaga Miracle Centre Cathedral, where they met Pastor Robert Kayanja.

Makoma is expected to deliver a thrilling performance when they take to the stage at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds this Friday.

Makoma later spent the day at The Rubaga Miracle Centre Cathedral, where they met Pastor Robert Kayanja, and later lit up Miracle Centre Cathedral with a taste of what is to come on Friday at the concert happening at Kololo Independence Grounds.
