Police in Iganga district were on Monday still hunting for a group of hooligans who attacked musician Patrick Mulwana, popularly known as Alien Skin, and vandalised his vehicle as he fled for safety.
The incident occurred on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Iganga Municipal Council Primary School, where Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja had earlier addressed a large crowd during the belated International Women’s Day celebrations. The venue, which had promised an evening of music, descended into chaos as fans fled from violence.
Alien Skin was among the artistes hired to entertain the crowd. According to police, trouble began shortly after the Prime Minister departed at around 3:00pm, when the master of ceremonies announced the arrival of a “big musician”, referring to Alien Skin.
Busoga East Police spokesperson Michael Kafayo said the crowd was visibly excited by the singer’s presence. One overenthusiastic fan breached security and jumped onto the stage to dance with him.
However, the singer’s bodyguards, commonly referred to as kanyamas, swiftly intervened and manhandled the fan. During the scuffle, the unidentified fan sustained a nosebleed. Sources suggested the bodyguards, fearing the fan may have been sent by Alien Skin’s adversaries, beat him severely.
Kafayo said the assault angered sections of the audience, who turned rowdy and began hurling stones. Sensing danger, Alien Skin fled the stage and was escorted by his guards to his waiting vehicle in an attempt to escape the situation.
In a statement issued on Monday, Kafayo noted that the fans—whom he described as “hooligans”—appeared determined to retaliate. They reportedly pursued the vehicle and pelted it with stones, causing substantial damage.
“We are following up on this matter and investigating the said hooligans and their motive of smashing the musician’s car,” Kafayo said.
This is not the first time Alien Skin has been involved in altercations at music shows. In recent months, he has clashed with fellow musician Pius Mayanja, also known as Pallaso. Alien Skin previously accused Pallaso of stealing sh6 million and damaging five cars, a matter he reported to Katwe Police Station.
One of the confrontations involved a gang allegedly loyal to Alien Skin dragging Pallaso off stage and assaulting him during a joint performance. In retaliation, Pallaso and his associates reportedly raided Alien Skin’s Makindye home within 10 hours of the altercation. The gang allegedly caused significant property damage, while Alien Skin is said to have hidden in the ceiling for safety.
Police confirmed that Alien Skin later lodged formal complaints against Pallaso for theft, malicious damage to property, and destruction of building glass.
In November last year, Alien Skin was also accused of leading an attack on Nsambya Hospital, where he and his group allegedly assaulted a medical worker and a security guard.
