Police confirms arrest of singer Grenade

This is the second time Grenade is being arrested. The first time he was arrested over allegations of theft.

On January 26 singer Grenade, real name Deus Ndugwa, was arrested shortly after performing at Fik Fameica’s (Shafik Walukagga) show at Lugogo Cricket Oval, Kampala. It is alleged that the arrest followed a fight between him and singer Rickman Manrick at La Terraza Club in Kampala in 2023.
The deputy Kampala metropolitan Police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, confirmed the arrest.
"It’s true we arrested Ndugwa Deus. We have been calling him to come and make a statement at the Police on what really happened between him and Rickman, but he kept on resisting up to when we found him at Walukagga Shakif’s show known as Fik Fameica, then we arrested him. But we gave him a bond on January 28, 2024 as we are doing our investigations as the Police,” he said.
Owoyesigyire made the statements at a weekly press briefing at Police headquarters Naguru in Kampala today on January 29, 2024.
