Kampala Serena Hotel’s Victoria Hall was last Friday, September 9, filled with hundreds of Christians who came to attend a worship event.
The event, dubbed Worship Xplosion, was organised to mark 10 years of Let Them Sing Band, a Christian band.
The celebrations saw revellers arriving at the venue as early as 3:00pm even when the gates were not officially open. They later accessed the venue an hour later although performances kicked off at exactly 7:00pm.
Gospel singer Aaron Zzabu was the first on stage with an energetic delivery.
The revellers got onto their feet to dance and sing along to his songs, with their favourite being Liwooma.
Performances went on back to back, with the official event host, Lady Bezo, not doing much on the stage.
The other artistes included Sandra Suubi, Gabbie Ntaate, Brian Lubega, Justin Nabbosa, and the Let them Sing band that performed together several times.
The Glass Awards was another highlight of the night as they started with a worship session before they switched to getting the worshippers to dance.
US gospel musician Michael Stuckey was a whole vibe as he raised the bar at the show. He did songs like I am Blessed, Big Big God, King of Glory, and Your Presence.
The main act of the night, Evelyn Wanjiru from Kenya, came on stage at around 10:00pm with loud cheers from the crowd.
She surprised the crowd with her first song that was a Luganda praise and worship song titled Tunakusinza Nga Yesu before she switched to some of her songs like Jehova Elohim, Baba Inuka, Utukufu, and Wawenzi.
Wanjiru later thanked the host of the event, Robinson Masembe, the CEO of Masrob Events.
