SOLEMNITY OF THE PENTECOST SUNDAY
-First Reading: Acts 2:1-11; When Pentecost day came, the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit. A sound like a strong wind and tongues of fire appeared. They spoke in different languages as the Spirit enabled them, and devout Jews from every nation heard them proclaiming the mighty acts of God
-.Responsorial Psalm – Ps 104:1, 24, 29-30, 31, 34; R. Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.
Bless the Lord who made all things. When you take away their breath they die, but when you send forth your Spirit they are created.
-2nd Reading – 1 Cor 12:3b-7, 12-13 ; No one can say “Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit. There are different gifts but the same Spirit. In one Spirit we were all baptized into one body – Jews or Greeks, slaves or free.
-Gospel Acclamation; Alleluia, alleluia.
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.
-Gospel – Johnn 20:19-23 On the evening of Easter, Jesus appears to the disciples, breathes on them and says: “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.”
