Organisers of the much-anticipated CeCe Winans concert, More Than This, in Kampala have announced that no tickets will be sold at the venue on the day of the event, scheduled for Thursday, August 28.
This announcement was made at Watoto Church Downtown during a press conference organised in partnership with Vision Group, Power FM, among others, ahead of the show. Fans are urged to purchase their tickets online ahead of time to avoid disappointment and ensure security.
Enoch Ikiriza, Team Leader at Usual Suspects Ltd and event organiser, emphasised punctuality and strict ticketing measures during the press conference. “We don’t want people coming with money and trying to do transactions at the venue,” Ikiriza said. “All tickets must be purchased online at www.ccwinance.com/tour. Select the Uganda date and pay by card or mobile money,” he said.
He also stressed the importance of arriving early, as gates will open at 2:00pm, with the show starting promptly at 7:30pm and concluding by 10:30pm “We will be starting on time and ending on time. Since the show is on a Thursday and most people will be working on Friday, we want to make sure everyone can get to work the next day,” Ikiriza added.
The concert forms part of CeCe Winans’ Africa tour, which includes stops in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya. Organisers described the tour as a pilot project with plans to expand next year. “Next year, we hope to bring an even bigger show, possibly featuring BeBe Winans,” Ikiriza noted.
Ticket prices remain unchanged. Regular tickets are sh50,000, VIP at sh150,000 and VVIP/Golden Circle tickets at sh250,000. VVIP ticket holders will enjoy reserved tables, refreshments and exclusive parking. VIP ticket holders get preferential parking, dedicated entrances and reserved seats. General admission ticket holders will access the main event area, known as where “all the fun is.”
Kenneth Oduka, Marketing Manager for Broadcast at Vision Group, spoke on the partnership between New Vision Group and the concert organisers. “As Uganda’s leading newspaper, New Vision is proud to partner with Usual Suspects Ltd to bring this monumental event to our readers and the public,” said Oduka. “CeCe Winans is a legendary gospel artist who has inspired many of us. We will provide extensive media coverage before, during, and after the concert through our newspapers, radio stations, TV channels, and digital platforms.”
Oduka highlighted the various media outlets supporting the event, including New Vision and Bukedde newspapers, seven regional radio stations, four TV channels, including Bukedde TV and TV West, and the VIDE mobile app. “Whether you are in Kampala or elsewhere in the country, you can stay connected and informed through our platforms,” he said. Fans are encouraged to watch for official event advisories with detailed information on parking and entrances to ensure a seamless experience.
