Naalya Secondary School has paid tributes to departed teaching and non-teaching staff.

The school also held a thanksgiving service to honour students who excelled in the recently released  2023 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examination.

Reverend Emmanuel Awancha from St.Luke Church-Bweyogere who leads the Holly Communion service at the school expressed the need for every Christian to carry their cross.


 
He said Jesus's victory over death through resurrection gives courage to believers that the person they are believing in is the true God.

He applauded the role played by the deceased who strived to transform the school into what it is now and encouraged students and teachers to maintain their legacy.

The deceased include teachers, cooks, drivers, and Canon Godfrey Njagala,  among others. 

'You still need to be mentored spiritually because you are the Ugandan leaders of tomorrow," Rev.Awacha told students.

Rev. Awacha from Sudan and still a student at Uganda Christian University Mukono appealed to Ugandans to pray for peace in Sudan.

 

"Sudan was among the first countries to receive Jesus Christ but currently is trailing. We need to jointly assist in reviving the Gospel peace and togetherness," he said.

"We must all seek God's forgiveness for where we have errored for a good spiritual relationship with God," he said.

Robinah Nsangi, the head teacher of the school said they are thankful to God for academic excellence.

"We are currently looking forward to this year's UCE examinations the first under the new curriculum. We have played our role in doing what is expected of us as teachers," she said.

Livingstone Ddungu the director of Naalya schools accredited the old students association for being vibrant and supportive to both continuing students and the entire school.

 Ddungu spearheaded the awarding of the 2023 UCE students who exceedingly performed better than others
