Mwalimu Ssozi to celebrate 37 years in music

Ssozi’s history in gospel music is outstanding. He has been a member of the popular Ambassadors of Christ Choir for the last 28 years.

After 37 years of creative writing and singing, Mwalimu Ssozi Joram has his eyes set on celebrating his legacy.

Ssozi’s history in gospel music is outstanding. He has been a member of the popular Ambassadors of Christ Choir for the last 28 years.

His writing skills clearly eclipse his vocal ability as he has penned close to 300 songs for Ambassadors of Christ Choir. He has also written about 200 others for other choirs. And do not be mistaken, he also carries a distinctive voice.

Come September 7, 2025, at Serena Hotel Kampala, he will be joined by the Ambassadors of Christ choir in a 37th anniversary show, it was revealed recently during a press conference.

“I may not be rich, but I do not regret the gospel direction I took. I take pride in serving God and knowing a lot of people,” he said during the press conference.

Several choirs have been lined up for performances. The Ambassadors of Christ Choir, Rwanda Chapter, is a likely highlight. Kenya will be represented by the captivatingly-named Bridal Choir. Golden Gate Choir, Hebrews Choir, Gabriel Ministries, Heavenly Gates Choir, Vision Choir, Harmonious Ministries, Jasper Singers, Heavenly Hearts Choir, Jordan Shores will also perform. The solo artistes expected to perform on the show are Joseph Segawa, Moses Ssozi and Geri Kigozi.

Ssozi is multilingual, writing lyrics in Kinyarwanda, Runyakore, Luganda, English and French.
