The Uganda national netball team, She Cranes, remains fully committed to their preparations for the Wales Test Series and the Vitality Nations Cup scheduled for January next year in Great Britain.

During Wednesday's training session, singer Veronica Lujja, popularly known as Vinka, paid a heartfelt visit to boost the team's morale and express gratitude for their contribution to promoting Uganda, her music, and Uganda’s culture at large.

In 2022, the She Cranes, Uganda's national netball team not only impressed with their exceptional performance but also stole the spotlight with their captivating dance moves on the global stage. At the 2022 Fast Five World Netball Series, the She Cranes earned the nickname "Dancing Queens" after a spirited dance performance to Grenade's "Tuli Babanda" song in New Zealand.

By the end of the tournament, She Cranes was voted the fan's favourite team.

Vinka applauded the girls for promoting Uganda’s culture and encouraged them to prioritize their dreams.

“Dear She Cranes, there is no way I can pay you back for promoting Uganda’s music. May the almighty God reward you and fulfill the desires of your hearts,” Vinka said

Since then, dancing has become the She Cranes' signature on various international platforms, providing opportunities for the music of artists like Rickman, Vinka, and Nina Roz to be played on the international scene.

Guided by assistant coach Nouredine Kato, the She Cranes are gearing up for the Wales Test series scheduled from the 10th to the 13th in Wales, followed by the Vitality Nations Cup set for the 20th to the 27th in England. Kato expresses optimism, anticipating a strong performance from his team in these upcoming tournaments.

“The girls are in good shape and they are improving day by day. I believe we are going to do better in the upcoming tournaments,” Kato explained

The She Cranes' most recent international engagement took place at the Netball World Cup in South Africa between July and August this year.`
